Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have had a lovely first week of school.  The kids spent the week learning the routines in our class.  They also loved experimenting with glitter, paint, rice, sand, and cutting.  This week our theme is “All About Me”. We will be getting to know everyone this week as well as getting familiar with the routines in our class.  Our goals this week are:

  • I can find my name, write/trace my name, name/point to shapes and colors.

  • I can follow rules and routines.

  • I can be safe, respectful, and responsible.

  • I can show creativity.

Below is some important information for you:

  • Get to know me bags were sent home today.  Please put 3 items in the bag that helps us get to know your child a little better.  We will be sharing these on Friday, August 31st.

  • There will be no school September 3rd and September 4th.

Here are some ideas you can do with your child at home:

  • Keep Reading:)  As you read ask your child questions about the story such as: who was in it, where are they, what do you think will happen, and what did happen.

  • Work on fine motor skills.  This can be done by lacing items, stringing items, painting, drawing, cutting, and ripping paper.  This will help build up the muscles in your child’s hand which will help make writing and cutting easier.

Thank you for everything you do.  Have a splendid week!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 668-8195 ext. 408 or
